About My School

San Francisco Elementary School is just like any other public elementary school by its physical appearance. But for me, what makes it very special is my teachers. They are kind and understanding. They sometimes even call pupils things like "anak," "iho," "iha" which sounds very sweet and endearing that makes a student feel at home. One particular teacher, Mr. Bancoro, sometimes call me "Laika" by accident, but we always correct him. Ms. Nicolas, my HEKASI and E.P.P. ( also known a Home Economics ) teacher, called us "anak" back when we were painting flower pots ( yes, it's a pun. They're 1.5L plastic bottles with floral designs. )

As a result, I decided to make a poem about them when we celebrated International Teachers Day in school, last October 5:

YOU TEACH US SO MUCH

Good day to all!
Let's listen to this tale so tall,
About the ladies and gentlemen
Who teach us things from now and then.
Lessons so great,
Lessons we'll always await,
Since our very first years
As we studied with our peers,
And now we're in the sixth grade,
Where preparations for the next year
Are meant to be made.

Ma'am Natividad, our teacher in Science
In that subject, she gives us guidance.

Sir Bagayan is an amazing guy,
He is a man that we all can rely.

Ma'am Nicolas teaches two subjects!
She's one of the best in some respects.

And here's to Ma'am Iglesias, our Math teacher!
Her kindness is an amazing feature.

Sir Bancoro is friendly and funny,
I like him, he’s very bubbly.

And how about Ma'am Bituon, who teaches us Music, Art, and Physical Education?
In these three subjects she teaches us about their application.

How about my adviser, Ma'am Duran?
She is a super duper amazing and wonderful woman!

Oh, oh, oh!
Let's not forget our principal, Mr. Randy Tagaan, constantly reminding us,
Because you know, listening to him is a must!

Teachers, teachers, oh such wonderful people.
We can never call them feeble.
What we get from them are lessons so good,
At the best ways that they could,
So we trust and support them,
As what they teach is a gem,
That tells us what to do when we grow,
Because learning is something that they bestow.

What do you guys think? My teachers said it was pretty cool, and I think it is too. Also, a gift to my adviser, Ms. Duran, because I consider her as my superhero:
The teachers found it really nice.

Nevertheless, let's talk about my school's physical appearance.  It's pretty cool, and it's near our house.

San Francisco is the best school I went to. The teachers are nice and pretty helpful. When one is confused, all they need to do is to approach the teacher, and the teacher will explain what the student has difficulty in.
Like most public schools, San Francisco is being visited by various organizations.

Once, Pepsodent had come to our school to promote proper oral health among the Kinder students. The other day Jack & Jill representatives came to host games based on their product, Rollercoaster.

One time, a TV network arrived to our school to film an episode for a show. They had a game for us Grade 6 students from Section 1 to Section. You had to shoot the basketballs in the hoops. It was kinda intense. I was one of the players. Let's just say I failed. (⌒_⌒;)

What I find even better about my school aside from the fact it's constantly visited by groups is that former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo had entitled the front school building a "Heritage Building." Apparently if a building is considered as one, it's pretty old and known. The people who are in charge of the building are allowed to renovate the building as long as the changes are minor, such as new paint jobs and fixing broken floorboards. The biggest change I've probably seen from that building was a couple of cemented rooms, which pretty much serves as extra classrooms. Drastic changes such as demolishing the building and building another building in place of it is forbidden.

Well, allow me to show you a map of my school, based on what I've seen so far.
All shades of blue are buildings with classrooms. The one with the darkest blue is the heritage building, which I'll be calling the main building from now on.
The red rectangle in the middle is the stage.
The yellow rectangle in the middle is the basketball court.
The two green boxes next to each other are the Guidance Office and Clinic.
( Fun fact: The principal's office is in the leftmost part of the main building. )

The "Guidance Office" and the "Clinic" are in the same room, but you get in through two different doors. Here are some shots inside:

And pictures of the principal's office:

I swear, I screamed when I saw that Oshawott plushie when I zoomed in the left picture.
So what do you folks think? Isn't my school, well, cool?
I hope you liked it!
This is Aiyu Wevy, signing out!
