July - Nutrition Month
| I'm neither just a fruit nor just a vegetable! I'm a bag of groceries filled with healthy goodies! |
The school promotes healthiness among its students. One of the events is a cook-off. Every class will have groups- depending on the size of each class. Each day in the contest, one group from each class will cook, and serve the teachers. The teachers will pick the best group, and presto, they win!!!
We went around a part of our district. We joked along the way. ~(˘▾˘~)
We said completely random things like "All the fat ones will be thin when we get back!" and "Dogs are hungry. They want vegetables. We are dressed up as vegetables. Don't go near the dogs." Ah, if only I could choose which was my favorite, this one or my field trip! \(>o<)/
August - Buwan ng Wika ( A Celebration of the Philippine National Language )
Definitely one of my favorite events. The goal for this event is to promote the use of Filipino - the national language of the Philippines. Well, we had a show, it was pretty neat. My classmate Janine, Nico, and Genesis had a "debate" which was about imported and exported rice or something. A young girl recited a poem ( and we kind of laughed about her voice... ) A couple of kids dressed up in traditional Filipino-style clothes and danced. A girl sang with her very sweet voice. Well, I'm not really much a Filipino user, but this entire thing was very, very entertaining.
I also joined a poster making contest.
Unfortunately, I didn't know if I won or not... 。・゚゚・(>д<)・゚゚・。

September - Science Month
The main part is the show- just like the previous event. And well, the main part of the show
Well, I didn't remember much from this event, but I can still remember the pageant.
Well, another pageant. Apparently, this happens every year. First, we are assigned different countries. Then they pick at least 2 representatives for each level. We are required to have 1 boy and 1 girl.We were assigned with the country Israel, and guess what? One of our representatives won first place, no other than Ariella! :)
We were very glad she won. Also, I think Erica, another classmate of mine who joined the said competition bagged the runner-up award.
Congratulations to both of you.
November - Andres Bonifacio's 150th Birthday
I'm sorry if this bit is kind of... lacking. Since I didn't come to the program ( I went to an essay-writing competition, ) I'm going to write with what I heard from my classmates. Basically, the preschoolers danced, and some people sang...etc. etc. But the most memorable thing my classmates told me was...
"MABUHAY!"
December - Field Trip and Christmas
Yes, I labelled the Christmas Program and Christmas Party as just "Christmas" because they're basically part of a two-day event. DEAL WITH IT.
Let's start with the field trip.
So first we went to Quezon City Memorial Center, where we explored the park, had a good laugh watching old people doing aerobics ( to nightcore music, no doubt, ) and we also went to this exhibit showing furniture, tools, paintings, etc. of Manuel Quezon and his family. By the way, did you know the my great-grandfather was Manuel Quezon's chauffeur?
Then we went to the Amazing Art Show that showcased 4 types of art forms: Sand, Tron, Laser, and Poi. If I were to order the 4 depending on how much I liked them ( least to greatest ) It would be Laser, Tron, Sand, and Poi.
Third, we went to Nido Discovery Center at Mall of Asia, which is basically the biggest mall of Asia ( obviously. ) Your usual NDC trip: go around the place, check out some exhibits, and for the last exhibit, the planetarium, they'll show you a short film in this small dome place. We were shown a Sesame Street short film starring Big Bird, Elmo, and this Chinese pig dude whose name I seriously don't know. They taught us about constellations like the Big Dipper and the North Star and the fact that there was no air and very low gravity on the moon and yeah.
Last, we went to MOA Storyland. There were a lot of rides but the lines were very, VERY long and we only had two hours so we were only able to ride the smaller version of the Vikings ride. We were on this boat, and it swung around. This swinging was pretty slow but we were screaming our lungs out because it was so high. We said things like: "WE MUST SURVIIIIVE!" "I LOVE YOU PARROT, LET ME TOUCH YOUR BEAK." "I HATE YOU PIRATE!!" It was even better because my friend, Angelica, who was sitting beside the pirate statue thing, was slapping it aggressively. Poor pirate.

On December 18, we had our Christmas Program. First, we had a re-enactment on the Birth of Christ, then we had a lot of singing and dancing ( mostly dancing. ) It was a fun program, but I have to say I liked the Christmas Party waaaaaay better. ( ̄ー ̄)
What's the matter with the Christmas Party, anyway? Well, it was sort of the spur-of-the-moment event that happened a day after our Christmas Party, but I found it fun. I lead the opening prayer, and we had one game. In that game, we basically would be "called" with our Group Name and we had to pass the calling on to another group. As far as I can remember, our Group was named "Soccer Kick." The other groups were called Basketball Shoot, Boxing Punch, Bowling Strike, Volleyball Spike, and Baseball Bat.
For example, one group would say, "Boxing Punch, Boxing Punch, Bowling Strike!"
And Bowling Strike would go "Bowling Strike, Bowling Strike, Baseball Bat!" and so on so forth.
After that game, we had our exchange gift. We called that exchange gift bit "Monito Monita." The entire class formed a circle and we started from Ma'am Duran. First, Ma'am gave her gift to her Monita, and her Monita gave her Monita her gift. This happened until everyone who attended the party got their gift. I gave my Monito, Nico ( remember the guy wearing the newspaper suit earlier? ) a small chess board. My Monita, Janine, gave me an EXTREMELY ADORABLE Hello Kitty purse.
Well, I got to say, this December was such a fine month!
I'm sure there's more to come in the future! (・ω・)For example, one group would say, "Boxing Punch, Boxing Punch, Bowling Strike!"
And Bowling Strike would go "Bowling Strike, Bowling Strike, Baseball Bat!" and so on so forth.

I guess that's all I gotta say!
